Attend prayers at Tibetan Monastery – Bylakuppe

Another activity you can add to your do-to list in Coorg is Tibetan Monastery – Bylakuppe.The Monastery is known as the Golden Temple of Coorg, the place is the second largest Tibetan settlement in India. The calm temple is loaded with majestic gardens and marvelous architecture.

Plan a picnic at Cauvery Nisargadhama

On a random evening, you can plan a picnic with your loved ones at Cauvery Nisargadhama. It is an island formed by the holy river Kaveri or Cauvery. You can find giant trees of thick bamboo, sandalwood, and teak. The place is connected by rope bridges. You can also enjoy tree top stays and restaurants.

Dive at Abbey Falls

One of the most prestigious waterfalls in Karnataka, Abbey Falls. Located amidst the Western Ghats, Abbey Falls is the top tourist attraction in Coorg. It was called Jessy Waterfalls in the British reign. The waterfall is 70 feet high, and you can reach here by taking a 10-minutes walk through coffee plantations.

How to reach: Situated 8 km from Madikeri bus station. You can book a cab to get to the base, after which you have to take a 10 min walk.

Enjoy river rafting at Barapole River

Barapole River is a popular white river rafting spot in Coorg. Also, it is rated as the most challenging rafting experience in South India. Barapole is a tributary that originates from the Kithu Kakathu River. You can enjoy fascinating rafting rapids, including Morning Coffee, GrassHopper, Ramba Samba, Wicked Witch, and Big Bang.
